We love fall time in our house. Gives us a break from the Georgia heat and it means some of our favorite things: changing leaves, cool breezes, NO mosquitoes, pumpkin spice lattes, candy corn, hot chocolate, cozy sweatpants/shirts, and pumpkin patches! The kids get so excited each year when we drive by somewhere and there's a pumpkin patch. We decided to surprise them this year and go a little early. Brad was off of work for a furlough day, so after we went with him to church for him to work an event, we took off up to Dawsonville. We love Burt's and it was a good time to go-not very many people there at all. In the past it has always been very crowded, but we went before the leaves really started changing this year so I'm guessing that's why it wasn't crazy yet.
We grabbed a few pictures and then all 3 kids got to pick their own pumpkins. Sorry for the overload of so many pictures, out of the hundreds of pictures I took, I still never got a single one of all 3 kids smiling and looking at the camera at the same time. Oh well, that's just reality.
After Burt's, we headed to Amicalola Falls. The kids loved walking around and especially loved looking from the top to see how high up we were-they loved seeing all of God's creation-one of those breathtaking views which of course is much bigger to them.
Before we headed home, we drove back down the mountain and let the kids play on the playground for a bit. We are a swing-loving family, and you can tell Micah had a blast on the swing.
It was a fun little day trip and we can't wait for more fall activities to come!
