Happy 4th of July! 2012

We had a great 4th of July this year. We started the day off with the Marietta parade. It was the first parade the kids have been to, and they seemed to really enjoy it! Our church was also in it (loudest and rowdiest group!), and both our church and Madison seemed to get a lot of publicity! haha. Both made it to the AJC photos. A photography from the AJC asked if he could take Madison's picture and got her information. She of course, was all over that.
Here's the picture of little miss patriotic if you don't want to click:
Madison Evans, 3, from Dallas, wearing patriotic colors, watches the parade .
US Senator Johnny Isakson was also walking in the parade and spotted Madison. He came right up to her and said "I just wanted to shake the beautiful little redhead's hand." Madison of course knows no strangers and was very polite and shook his hand. I wish I would have gotten a picture of that but I wasn't quick enough before he had to start walking again!

Landon had a great time clapping and saying "Yaaaay" for everyone who walked by. Both kids waved their flags and played with balloons.

We left when it got really hot and the kids were getting sleepy. Then after a little bit at home, we headed to my grandparents' house for our 4th of July lunch and celebrated my grandfather's 78th birthday. We had a great time visiting with family, then went back home to finish up naps before fireworks.

After naps we headed back out to our church where we could sit in the parking lot and socialize with our church family. We had a huge group there. It was a lot of fun, and the guys played frisbee while the kids ran around with our friends' dog. Audrey showed up also and being with all the people we love helped pass the time before the Marietta fireworks started.

Both kids loved the fireworks and Madison loved the different colors-she had been wanting to see some pink fireworks for a long time. Poor Landon was starting to get sleepy. This was his face, trying to stay awake.

But then he was happy on Daddy's shoulders.
Overall it was a great day and the kids were worn out. I love how they get into celebrations more and more every year. They are so much fun! Next year we will be adding an 8 month old to the mix :)
