Madison- 26 Months

Yesterday Brad and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. We had a nice evening out to eat and did a little shopping without the kids, which I have to admit was kind of nice since we were able to relax! No "sit on your bottom" "can you put his paci back in?" "he needs to eat" "do you need to go to the potty?" "don't touch that", "1...2...3!" etc. It was a much needed break! I do have to admit I missed them, though.
Water colors from Grandmommy. My mom said she sat at the table for an entire hour straight doing that. Love the attention span!

Another month has gone by and Madison is just so big. Two of her four 2-year molars came in this month, the bottom 2. We've been having trouble with her sleeping, which I'm not sure if those big bad teeth had anything to do with it, or if she was just lonely, but it took awhile to get her to go to bed. She didn't want to be left alone, and if she woke up and we were gone, she would cry for us. Finally we figured out to just leave her lamp on. She has a nightlight, but apparently it wasn't enough. Sometimes she would get up and grab one of her chairs to stand on to turn on her light. She is sleeping much better now, just with her lamp on. I can deal with that if it means sleeping through the night!

She is very creative in everything she does, from pretending to make us food to holding a picture frame up around her head and saying, "Look, I'm a picture!" She's so silly all the time and makes us laugh constantly. She runs her little mouth all day long from the time she wakes up until she goes to bed. Anytime a little kid calls her a little girl or we say "hey baby," she always has to correct us by saying "No, I'm not a baby, I'm a big girl!" She is still so outgoing and makes friends immediately. She is very bossy, bossy, bossy. She likes to tell everyone where to sit, what to do, and constantly asks what we are doing. She is very much a leader in every situation and I can see her as a teacher's pet with how smart she is and how much she helps clean up and "mother" others in the church nursery. She is full of many facial expressions and has a new one where she lowers her brows at us. It is part of her "terrible two's" (which really aren't so terrible, she's a sweetheart!) Her reasoning skills grow every day, like when we tell her it's too chilly to go outside, she tells us she can get a jacket.

We've also discovered that the little redhead tans. I don't know many redheads that do that, but she got burned a little bit a few weeks ago (because Daddy did not obey Mommy in putting on the sunscreen!) then it turned into a tan. It's been several weeks and she's still tan! I'm a little jealous! Must be nice to have the most beautiful hair color and a tan on top of that...here she is sporting her new look-Daddy told her to take off her white tank top, haha. The lighting makes it look a little red but it's actually brown. Crazy.
Please excuse the fact that she is rarely wearing anything but panties in all her pictures. For one thing, she doesn't like her picture taken very often, so it's rare I even get a decent one. She also likes to be "nakey." What can I say, she's at that stage so the pictures tell the truth!
