Flooding and 6 Month Check-Up

Yesterday was a crazy day because of all the flooding here. Many people's houses are flooded, including Brad's parents' house. The water flooded their house up to 3 or 4 feet deep. Things have been hectic and they've been over here at our house while trying to work on theirs. Please keep everyone in your prayers, especially people who do not have flood insurance. So many roads are still closed too, it took one of Brad's friends 3 and a half hours to get home from work yesterday--and I'm sure that's not the worst of it. All schools are obviously closed. This is the elementary school I used to work ASP, also where my mom taught for a few years--Clarkdale Elementary--completely under water:
Not too far away from us.Here is Brownsville Rd, the road my parent's neighborhood is off of. Fortunately their neighborhood is ok. Notice the speed limit sign is almost completely under.
Even through all this, we still made it to Madison's 6 month check up yesterday (Even though it took forever to get home in all the traffic!) The doctor and nurse said she was absolutely perfect and doing great, after commenting on her thunder thighs and chunkiness. Poor baby, but she is starting to slim down now. At 4 months, she was 14 lbs 8 oz, and yesterday she was only 16 lbs. 4 1/2 oz. (60th percentile). To be honest I think she has dropped a few ounces in the past month or so. She is still above average for weight, but isn't gaining as quickly because of the fact that she is mobile now...no, not crawling, rolling around the floor. She does it super fast and starts to get into things and furniture. I'm not ready for this!! She was 65 cm long (close to 26 in) which is still average for height (50th percentile). She also got her shots as well as a mild flu shot that's going to need a booster in a month. The shots didn't go so well since it was past her naptime and the nurse giving them was soooo slow. Normally they do them all at once and really quick, but this nurse took her time doing them one at a time and talking to her as she screamed...and Madison just stared at me while she was screaming :( She slept great last night though, 11 hours without a single sound, then ate and slept a little longer. She's got a slight fever from the shots but has been in a very happy mood. We're keeping her dosed up on Tylenol for her fever. She also got to start her new yummy foods now that she's 6 months. She had apples and blueberries last night. Here she is enjoying them...I think :)
Just playing on the floor...She looks so big :(
